Our Beginning
It Started With One Question.
After nearly twenty years helping other artists build their dreams, a life-changing medical diagnosis left me with one question.
“When are you finally going to do it for you?”
That single question changed the course of my life.
Ancient Innovations was the answer.
The Discovery
It Wasn't the People. It Was the Tools.
As Ancient Innovations grew, so did our understanding of the challenges our own family faced every day. Living with ADHD, Autism, executive functioning challenges, and chronic illness taught us something unexpected. The problem wasn’t a lack of motivation or effort. Too often, the tools people relied on simply weren’t designed for the way real people think, remember, focus, and create.

Meet Jaime
I've learned from a lifetime of chronic illness and pain that sometimes the sweetest lemonade comes from life's hardest lemons.
If you stop by my booth, you'll probably find a smile on my face and leave with a friend. I work hard, but it rarely feels like work... unless I'm building a website. Then it's definitely work.
Life has taught me that the things people remember aren't the things we buy—they're the people who took the time to truly see us. That's why my goal has never been simply to sell a notebook or a handcrafted tool. It's to make real connections, share a laugh, offer a hug when it's needed, celebrate someone's victories, or simply remind them that they're not alone.
Every conversation is an opportunity to learn someone's story, and every product we create is designed with the hope that it becomes part of that story. If one of our notebooks inspires someone to write again, if one of our family systems brings a little peace to a busy home, or if someone walks away feeling just a little more encouraged than when they arrived, then I've accomplished far more than making a sale.
At the end of the day, wood, leather, and lasers are just the materials. The real work has always been building connections.
Meet Blake
Blake is the technical mind behind much of what happens at Ancient Innovations.
Many of the products on our shelves began with a simple sentence.
"Hey Mom... what if we made a better DM screen?"
"Hey Mom... what if player trackers did more than fit inside a little box?"
That's usually how it starts.
Once the challenge is set, we begin taking ideas apart, asking questions, and figuring out how to build something better than what already exists.
While I spend my time designing products, Blake spends much of his time making our workshop work. From modifying our laser equipment and improving production workflows to writing code, solving technical problems, and developing new systems, he's constantly looking for ways to make the impossible practical.
Living with autism and chronic illness has shaped the way Blake approaches the world. His mind naturally looks for patterns, systems, and better solutions. He enjoys understanding how things work, why they fail, and what can be improved. It's a perspective that has become one of Ancient Innovations' greatest strengths.
He may not be the loudest voice in the room, but behind nearly every new product, machine upgrade, and workflow improvement, you'll find Blake asking one simple question:
"Hey Mom... what if?"
